Date:[2012-7-28]    Total Reading[2395]次

There are not many parts of a projector that can be easily replaced by the user, however one of the most common parts that will have to be replaced by the owner at some point is the projector lamp. This is what transfers imagery from your projector to a screen or surface. The first thing to know about lamp installation is knowing when to replace your lamp. Most people will have to rely on being able to notice a lack of brightness or color fading that occurs in order to know when to replace their projector lamps.

CONSULTING THE OWNER’S MANUAL

However some projectors these days have a built in indicator feature that will allow you to know when to replace your projector lamp. The most important thing that you can do before installing projector lamps is make sure that you have read the users manual for your projector to get the manufacturers recommendations for replacing and installing new projector lamps. Once you have done this you can begin the process of installing your projector lamp. Below you will find a few tips that will help to keep you safe while installing your projector lamp.

HOW TO INSTALL THE PROJECTOR LAMP

The first thing that you want to do is make sure the projector is turned off and the power cord is unplugged. It’s also best to unplug all other cables that are currently being used for your projector. A great tip is to label the cables in order to make it easy when you go to set up your projector after replacing the projector lamp.

The next thing that you are going to want to do is remove the access panel for the bulb. These are often located on the outside cover of the projector but it will depend on the make and model of your specific projector. The access panel can usually be opened with a screwdriver. This access panel is what will allow you access to the inner components of the projector including the projector lamp. Certain projectors will also require other components to be replaced along with the projector lamps such as a filter. This is something that you are going to want to consider when installing and replacing your projector lamps.

DON’T TOUCH THE GLASS

One important thing to remember when installing a projector lamp is to avoid touching the glass portion of the lamp. The oils on your skin will cause damage to the bulb of the projector lamp and must be avoided at all costs. Once you have inserted the new projector lamp ensuring it is safely secured, you can close and seal the access panel and begin to use your projector again. Perhaps one of the biggest and most common mistakes that people make when installing projector lamps is accidentally touching the glass of the bulb. This is something that you want to keep in mind and make sure you avoid when installing your projector lamps. For more information on your specific projector it’s best to contact the manufacturer directly.
